# Get Current User

`GET https://api.getprospect.com/v2/me`

The person the credential belongs to, the workspace it acts in (with the role read live) and how the request authenticated. Use it as a connection test or a `whoami`: any credential works (API key, OAuth app, signed-in session). Free. No credits.

## Authentication

Pass your API key in the `x-api-key` header.

## Response 200

The current user. A signed-in App session also gets a few App-only fields (`x-internal`).

## Response 401

Missing, unknown or inactive credentials, or the account was deleted (`UNAUTHORIZED`).

## Response 429

Too many requests (`RATE_LIMIT`).

## Response 500

Unexpected server error.
