Sure Step Las Vegas offers a simple and inexpensive method for treating (slippery) surfaces, reducing the likelihood of slip and fall accidents. It is not a coating! We offer a new and safe solution that works at the micro-pore level to improve traction, making your slippery surfaces safer and there is no residue after treatment has been applied. The process of using our services: 1. Identification Discuss known issues with owner/management team. Conduct a walkthrough to determine and validate, through visualization, potential slip and fall hazards, and risks. Any surface can be a potential slip and fall hazard. 2. Testing Utilizing the ASM 825A Slip Meter or BOT 3000, we test identified areas to determine the Static Coefficient of Friction (SCOF). ADA Guidelines recommends a SCOF of 0.60 and higher. A typical floor falls between 0.25 0.50. 3. Treatment We increase the traction by producing a micro-tread on your slippery surface. Problem areas are treated using a proprietary three-step process, which results in an increased SCOF of 0.70 or more. 4. Follow-up We will schedule two follow-ups in six-month intervals (included in the service) to re-test treated areas to ensure proper traction remains. A typical client will find that their floors are often slippery and, subsequently, dangerous to walk on when wet. Their only option is to optimize maintenance, set out warning signs and to try to prevent the floor from becoming wet. Besides the questionable effectiveness, in most cases, this does not solve the underlying problem in that the floor will still become slippery when wet. Some companies may offer to acid-etch hard floor surfaces, however, this permanently damages the surface, making it difficult to clean, adversely affects the appearance and is only a temporary solution and, a hazardous one at that!
