Northamptonshire Police company description

Covering 914 square miles and policing a diverse population of over 747,000, Northamptonshire Police employ over 1,400 police officers across the county. We receive, on average, 1,200 calls a day, have recorded upwards of 62,000 crimes over the past year, and were the only force in the country to report a decrease in crime in the year to June 2022. Despite this, we recognise there are a number of crime rates that pose a challenge to the force and the people of Northamptonshire, and that’s why we’ve made these our Matters of Priority. We’re committed to cracking down on these crimes and making a positive difference within our communities. Many of our communities live in urban areas, including a vast number of university students, and we see many more travel through and visit the area on roads such as the M1 and A14. As a force, we face many unique challenges. From urban versus rural communities, to policing one of the biggest sporting events in the country - the British Grand Prix - we strive to deliver a high-quality service to the public no matter what the challenge. Both on the front-line and behind the scenes, we have a wealth of experience and knowledge to protect people and fight crime. We want our communities to feel safe and supported, so whether you call 999, 101, or visit a public enquiry desk, we are committed to providing an outstanding police service, and creating a safer county for all those that come to Northamptonshire. Northamptonshire Police are proud supporters of The Armed Forces Covenant. This means it recognises the value of serving personnel, veterans, Reserve Forces and military families and promises to ensure those that serve or have served, and their families will be treated fairly. In 2017, Northamptonshire Police first signed the Armed Forces Covenant, a pledge to treat service personnel and their families with fairness and respect, and received the ERS Silver Award in 2022.
