# Quick start: find, save and export your first leads > Search People with two filters, select the people you want, add them to a list, open the list and export it to CSV or Excel. Updated Oct 16, 2026 · Alona Shalieieva · https://getprospect.com/help-center/getting-started/quick-start Go from sign-in to your first file of leads in about five minutes. You search [People](https://app.getprospect.com/people), save the people you want to a list, then export that list. ## Before you begin - Any member of the workspace can do this. - Credits: saving a person uses 1 email credit if they have a valid email you do not own yet. Searching is free. Details in "Credit usage". ## Steps 1. Sign in at [https://app.getprospect.com](https://app.getprospect.com) and click **People** in the sidebar. 2. Add two filters in the filter rail. Open **Job Title**, type a title such as "VP of Sales" and pick it from the suggestions. Then open **Location** and pick a country. The results update as you go. ![People page with Job Title set to VP of Sales and Location set to Germany in the filter rail, and the matching people listed in the table](https://static.getprospect.com/img/help-center/v2/quick-start-1-642a2caedf.webp) 3. Select people. Tick the checkboxes next to the people you want, or click the checkbox above the table and choose **Select this page**, **Select all people** or **Select number of people**, then **Apply**. 4. Click **Add to list**. Pick a list, or type a new name and click **Create list ""**. The popover shows how many email credits the save will use. Click **Confirm**. ![Add to list popover with a list ticked, the line "Adding 25 leads will use 14 email credits." and the Confirm button](https://static.getprospect.com/img/help-center/v2/quick-start-2-f666232b75.webp) 5. Click **Export N contacts**. ![Export dialog with All contacts selected, the column picker, File format set to Excel (.xlsx), the Cost line and the Export button](https://static.getprospect.com/img/help-center/v2/quick-start-3-366309fa22.webp) 7. Wait for the file. It builds in the background and downloads itself when ready. You can download it again later from [Exports](https://app.getprospect.com/exports). ## What you get A list in your workspace that your whole team can see, and a CSV or Excel file with the columns you picked. If you connected a CRM, the saved people sync to it automatically. ## Credit usage | Action | Cost | | --- | --- | | Searching, filtering, opening a profile | Free | | Saving a person whose valid email you do not own yet | 1 email credit | | Saving a person without an email, or one you already own | Free | | Exporting people you already saved | Free, you own their emails | ## FAQ ### Revealing an email did not add the person to my list. Why? Reveal only shows the email; to keep the person, add them to a list, free for emails you already revealed (see [Reveal or save?](https://getprospect.com/help-center/lists-and-saved-data/reveal-or-save.md)). ### What if I do not have enough email credits? The **Add to list** popover says so before you confirm. Select fewer people, or get more credits from [Settings > Subscription](https://app.getprospect.com/settings/subscription). ## Related articles - [Search for people: filters and results](https://getprospect.com/help-center/people-and-company-search/people-search.md) - [Create and manage lists of people and companies](https://getprospect.com/help-center/lists-and-saved-data/lists.md) - [Export people and companies to CSV or Excel](https://getprospect.com/help-center/integrations-and-api/export.md) - [How credits work](https://getprospect.com/help-center/credits-and-billing/how-credits-work.md)
