Founded by patriarch Philip Belz (1904 - 2000) in the early 1940s on a four-acre tract in north Memphis, the company’s first project was construction of several of the city’s first large industrial buildings. Belz develops, owns and manages warehouse/ distribution, retail, office/showroom, factory outlet malls, apartments/residential developments, land and hotels. The properties include more than 30 shopping complexes, ranging from regional malls and community shopping centers to factory outlet malls, as well as hotels, office, industrial and residential developments.
