The Online Lenders Alliance (OLA) is the first trade association in technology-driven lending. OLA is focused on credit inclusion, bringing together a diverse group of innovative companies who share a common goal: to serve hardworking Americans who deserve access to trustworthy credit. Our members are lenders, credit bureaus, advertisers, lead generators, alternative data providers, fraud prevention experts, compliance professionals, and software developers who are leveraging technology to responsibly improve consumers’ financial health. Every member abides by a rigorous set of Best Practices covering everything from how a loan is advertised to how debt is collected, ensuring consumers are fully informed and fairly treated. Consumer protection is built into our mission. OLA operates a free Consumer Hotline and an aggressive website monitoring program that has crawled more than one million websites to identify fraud and companies using prohibited marketing terms that mislead consumers. OLA is also the industry’s voice in Washington, D.C. and in state capitals, advocating for policies that expand credit options rather than eliminate them. We produce original research on the real-world effects of policies that restrict credit access, build coalitions across the financial services sector, and give members the resources, information, and education to succeed in a complex regulatory landscape.
