Parkland College company description

Parkland College is a comprehensive community college offering 100+ associate-degree and certificate programs that unlock opportunities for students, whether they are headed toward a technical career or a four-year university. Our location in Champaign, Illinois, provides the amenities and excitement of a larger city with small-town conveniences. Located in the fastest growing city in Illinois, you’ll enjoy an impressive list of professional and cultural options for residents, along with short commute times. In Champaign, you are not just one of the crowd, but part of a thriving and growing community. Parkland College is number one in student transfers to the University of Illinois, a top research university located across town. A major benefit to living near the University of Illinois is the access to Big 10 sporting events and world-class entertainment at venues such as Memorial Stadium, State Farm Center, and the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. Champaign-Urbana was named the Greatest Midwest Food Town by Midwest Living Magazine for good reason! Our sister cities have distinct, thriving downtown business districts offering delicious food, nightlife, coffee shops, and shopping. Local restaurants as well as regional favorites are all on the menu. Looking for bigger-city fare? Our excellent location in Illinois means only a two- to three-hour drive to enjoy Chicago-style hot dogs, sugar cream pie in Indianapolis, St. Louis BBQ, and some of country’s top-rated breweries. Our community offers a number of recreational and cultural events throughout the year. You won’t want to miss Ebertfest, Pygmalion Festival, Taste of CU, or the Urbana Sweetcorn Festival, just to name a few. We also have award-winning parks to enjoy when you’re not in class or studying. If you’re looking to be part of this diverse, vibrant community, then a career at Parkland College may be the place for you to set down roots.
