University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES) is India's First Energy University and Asia's First Energy & Core Sector University. UPES offers over 80 programs graduate and post graduate programs in the high growth sectors of Oil & Gas, Power, Aviation, Shipping, Automobile, Design, Public Policy, Infrastructure, Information Technology, Electronics, International Business and Logistics & Supply Chain & Legal Studies. A statutory university established at Dehradun through an act the State Legislature of Uttarakhand in the year 2003, UPES started with a 42 acres campus christened as "Energy Acres" in Bidholi, Dehradun. The 'Knowledge Acres' Campus is located at Kandoli which is 3 km before Bidholi campus.
