The Seventh-day Adventist Church (the Adventist name is a reference to its belief in the advent, the second coming of Jesus), appeared between the 1850s and 1860s concomitantly in the United States and Europe. A book entitled La Venida Del Mesias in Gloria y Majestad was printed in 1812. This publication agitated religious circles and was the forerunner of the idea that Jesus would return a second time. At the beginning of the last century, within the evangelical churches, the movement spread, focusing on the advent, or the personal return of Jesus. From there came the word Adventist, characterizing one of the fundamental beliefs of the Church (see here the 27 doctrines of the Adventist Church) Within this movement, special attention has been given to the study of the Bible, both New and Old Testaments.
