Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT) is a non-profit public broadcaster that has been providing regular radio services since 1926 and television broadcasts since 1957. LRT joined European Broadcasting Union in 1993. LRT operates three national television (LRT TELEVIZIJA, LRT PLIUS, LRT LITUANICA), three radio channels (LRT RADIJAS, LRT KLASIKA, LRT OPUS) and internet channel LRT.lt. LRT RADIJAS, the main LRT radio station, has the biggest share in Lithuanian radio market and pays most of attention to the operative news and educative on-air production. Radio station LRT KLASIKA concentrates on culture and classic music, while LRT OPUS - on non-commercial music production and on-air shows for youth. The programme of LRT TELEVIZIJA consists of news broadcasts, public, social, cultural, educational and entertaining TV production, while LRT PLIUS offers a wider profile of programmes focused on culture. LRT LITUANICA channel is designed for Lithuanians living abroad and combines the best production of LRT TELEVIZIJA and LRT PLIUS.
