Northern Strands was established in 1970 as a wire rope supplier to the mining industry. In 1976 a more general purpose wire rope and rigging product line was added. This was to serve the smaller wire rope and rigging requirement associated with the then established mining customers. By 1994, Northern Strands had become a dominant player in Saskatchewan for wire rope and the associated rigging, capitalizing on the strength of its position in the mining and industrial sector. Since then, Northern Strands has expanded into the following divisions: Wire Rope & Rigging, Mining Wire Rope, Attachments & Equipment, Engineered Fall Protection Systems, Suspended Access and Training.
