Rock Your Body Pilates, LLC, located at 45435 Market St. in Macomb County's Shelby Township, is metro Detroit's first Megaformer studio. The Megaformer, invented by former bodybuilder and Pilates expert Sebastien Lagree, kicks up the intensity of an average Pilates workout, by making it more challenging, more heart-pounding and more fun. Megaformer classes are the hottest workouts in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago, with celebrities such as Sofia Vergara, Kate Hudson and Michelle Obama lining up to try their hand at the re-imagined Pilates machine. Unlike a traditional Pilates class, RYB classes are high-energy, with students getting a cardiovascular workout while they challenge up to 600 muscles during a single Megaformer session. But RYB classes are still perfect for everyone, with each machine's intensity being matched to an individual's particular strengths and weaknesses. Owner and studio director Ashley Bazzetta, of Shelby Township, is certified in traditional Stott Pilates, and has been teaching the Megaformer since 2011. "I'm thrilled RYB is Michigan's first and only Megaformer studio, and I can't wait to show my hometown the results these workouts can bring," Bazzetta said.
