TSSA is an independent trade union for the transport and travel trade industries. We have thousands of members right across the UK and Ireland, working for the railways and associated companies. Members are the lifeblood of our union, thanks to our organising approach. Day in, day out, they give up their time and energy to supporting their colleagues at work and building TSSA’s grass roots. This activity takes a number of different forms. In the workplace we have reps: local reps, health and safety reps and learner reps, all dedicated to standing up for employees’ views and improving pay and conditions. TSSA is committed in fighting for equality, we are Stonewall Champions and have signed the Time to Change Pledge. We have work going on in all equality strands with a current focus on Neurodiversity, LGBT+, BAME, Women in Rail and Mental Health in the Workplace. Outside the workplace, many members are involved in the union’s internal democracy - branches, divisional councils, the executive committee and at annual conference. The majority of our members have been recruited by their colleagues - by other lay members. Find out why recruitment is vital to TSSA, and what you can do to help.
