It is the mission of The Space on Main to foster entrepreneurship, innovation, the arts, education, health, and recreation in order to increase opportunity for personal and collective growth in the Cohase Region of Vermont and New Hampshire by providing a creative facility with access to affordable equipment, work spaces, and classes. It is our goal to ensure prosperity of our community by leveraging talent in the region by creating pathways to outside individuals, services, and technologies. cowork·ing /ˌkōˈwərkiNG/ (verb) the use of an office or other working environment by people who are self-employed or working for different employers, so as to share equipment, ideas, and knowledge. mak·er·space /ˈmākərˌspās/ (noun) a place in which people with shared interests, especially in creative or STEM fields, can gather to work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment, and knowledge. Our region is home to artists, teachers, mechanics, lawyers, consultants, farmers, designers, writers, carpenters, bakers, architects, gardeners, retirees, historians, veterans, healers, yogis, gamers, athletes, stay-at-home parents, DIYers, students, and people from all walks and stages of life. People define themselves by their professions, hobbies, associations, connections, ethnicities, and any number of other characteristics that make up who they are. No matter the definitions, one thing is true no matter where you are: we all have varied values, perspectives, interests, experiences, needs, and talents. This means we all have many things to share with, learn from, and teach each other. The Space On Main, Inc. is a multipurpose classroom, conference room, wellness space, coworking space, office, lounge, gallery, makerspace, online network, local partner, and above all else, a facilitator of community connections.
