Update the extension to the latest version

Table of content

Most extension problems are fixed by updating. Chrome installs extension updates on its own schedule, often only after a restart, so you can run an old version for days after we release a fix.

Update first if you see any of these:

  • your lists do not load in the list picker;
  • saving hangs, or Add to list does nothing;
  • emails do not show after you reveal or save;
  • the panel looks different from the screenshots in this help center.

Steps

  1. Check your version. Open chrome://extensions in the address bar, find Email Finder - GetProspect and click Details. The Version line shows the number. Version 7 or later is the current side-panel extension.
  2. Update now. On chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode in the top-right corner, then click Update in the bar that appears. Chrome updates all your extensions at once. You can turn Developer mode off again afterwards.
  3. Reload the page. Go back to your LinkedIn or website tab, reload it, and open the GetProspect panel again.
  4. If that did not help, restart Chrome. Close every Chrome window, then open Chrome again. Updates waiting to install are applied on restart.
  5. Reinstall as a last resort. On chrome://extensions, click Remove on Email Finder - GetProspect. Then install it again from the Chrome Web Store and sign in. Your lists and saved people are kept, because they live in your workspace, not in the extension. Your extension Preferences go back to the defaults.

FAQ

I updated and the problem is still there. What now?

Write to us through the chat in the web app. Tell us your extension version, the page you were on, and send a screenshot of the panel.

Do I lose my saved people if I remove the extension?

No. Everything you saved is in your lists in the web app.
