Remove your own data from GetProspect

Table of content

If your business details are in GetProspect, you can see what we hold or have it deleted, free of charge, at any time. You do not need a GetProspect account.

What we hold about you

GetProspect holds business information about professionals:

  • First and last name
  • Job title and current or previous employers
  • City, region and country
  • A public professional profile link, such as your LinkedIn profile URL
  • A business email address at your employer's domain
  • In certain cases, a telephone number

We do not hold personal email addresses (such as Gmail, Outlook or iCloud). A telephone number, when we hold one, is obtained from licensed data providers when a customer asks for it. Profiles come from publicly available professional sources and licensed B2B data providers. Business emails are generated from your name and your employer's email format, then verified. Details are in our privacy policy.

Option 1: the Personal Data page

This is the fastest way.

  1. Open getprospect.com/personal-data.
  2. Under What would you like us to do?, choose Delete my data and stop processing it or Send me a copy of my data. A copy request also ends in deletion: after you view your copy, we delete the record.
  3. Enter your First name, Last name, Email address and LinkedIn URL. Use your business email if you can still read it: the confirmation link is sent there. Company domain (optional) helps us find you.
  4. Tick I’m the person named above, or I’m authorized to make this request for them., complete the security check and click Send confirmation link.
  5. Open the email and click the link. On the page that opens, click Delete my data or Show my data.

The confirmation step makes sure only you can act on your record.

Option 2: email us

If you cannot use your business email, or prefer to write, email with:

  • your full name, and
  • your business email address(es) and/or your LinkedIn profile URL.

You can write in any language. A name alone, or only a personal email address, usually cannot be matched to a record. Please do not send identity documents, dates of birth or home addresses. We acknowledge every request within 10 business days and reply within the time the law sets (one month under the GDPR).

Someone else, such as a privacy service, can send the request for you with evidence that you authorized it.

What happens next

If you asked for removal

  • Your record is deleted as soon as you confirm, with its email addresses, phone numbers and derived data. Copies in encrypted backups expire within 124 days.
  • Your name is removed from our public business directory pages. Search engines update their copies on their own schedule.
  • Customers who saved your record are told about your request, and it is removed from their GetProspect accounts. Copies they exported earlier are outside our control, but they must also act on your request.
  • We send you a confirmation email.

If you asked for a copy

  • The page shows the data we hold and lets you download it as a text file. It opens only once, so download it straight away.
  • After you have viewed your copy, we delete the record and add a do-not-collect record.

In both cases we keep a small do-not-collect record (your name, LinkedIn profile identifier, email addresses and your business email's domain), used only to stop your data from being added again. If we hold nothing about you, we tell you, and we still add the do-not-collect record so your data is not added in future.

FAQ

Can I find out which companies received my data?

Yes. Email and we will tell you which customer organizations saved your record.

Can you delete the do-not-collect record too?

Yes, on request by email. Your data may then be added to our database again in the future.

Does this remove me from other databases?

No. Removal from GetProspect does not affect data held by other companies. Contact them directly.
