What each row needs and what the result file contains

Table of content

A row matches when it identifies one person or company. This page lists what that takes, what does not work, and where the new data lands in the file you get back from CSV enrichment.

What each row needs

PeopleA LinkedIn profile URL (linkedin.com/in/... or a Sales Navigator lead URL)
A work email
A name (full name, or first and last name) plus a company name or company website
CompaniesA company LinkedIn URL, a company website, or a company name

A LinkedIn URL is the most reliable key. With a name, add the company website rather than only the company name when you have it.

What does not match

  • A name with no company.
  • A personal email (Gmail, Yahoo and similar): it does not tell us where the person works.
  • A company LinkedIn page in a people file, or a person's profile in a company file. The mapping step warns you about both.
  • Values in the wrong column, such as IDs in a name column. The mapping step flags these.

People we cannot match but whose row has a name and a company still get an email search. Those rows read Email found when it works. Results are not added to our database.

How your file is read

  • The first row should be a header. If there is none, columns are named Column 1, Column 2 and so on, and the first row is kept as data.
  • A Full name column is split at the first space into first and last name.
  • Excel files: only the first sheet is read, up to 100,000 rows. For more rows, save the sheet as CSV.
  • Encoding: we detect it and convert to UTF-8 so accented names match, and tell you on the mapping step. If we cannot tell, save the file in Excel as "CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited)" and upload it again.
  • Empty lines are skipped.

What the result file contains

You always get a CSV, even if you uploaded Excel. Every row of your file is there, in the same order, with your columns first. After them come:

  1. Result: what happened to the row.
  2. Matched By: which of your values found the person or company (linkedin_url, email or name_and_company).
  3. The Person fields: and Company fields: you ticked, for example Email, Mobile, Job title, Company domain and Company employee range. Full name and Person LinkedIn URL are always included in people files.
MatchedWe found the person or company; the fields are filled in.
Email foundNot in the database, but the email search found a verified address.
No emailMatched, but we have no verified email and you chose Contacts with verified email. No data, no charge.
Not matchedNothing found. Free.
FailedSomething went wrong on our side. These rows are also in a separate failed-rows file you can run again.

The file is named after yours, for example leads - GetProspect People Enriched with emails 2026-10-16.csv.

FAQ

Where are the emails in my file?

In the Email column, after your own columns and the Result and Matched By columns.

Why is there no email status column?

We add only emails that passed our verification, so a status column would only ever say "valid". Verification lowers bounce risk but can't guarantee delivery. A row without a valid email has an empty Email cell.

Can I get only the rows that have an email?

Every row stays in the file. Filter the Result column, or the Email column, in your spreadsheet.

Do Sales Navigator URLs work?

Yes. Sales Navigator lead URLs are read like regular profile URLs.
