Why do I see "Searching email…"?

Table of content

Searching email… means GetProspect is still looking for this person's email. When you look up a person or reveal an email, we search at every company the person currently works at, all at the same time. Most searches finish in seconds.

What you see. While the search runs, the email field shows Searching email… with a spinner. This happens in the results table, in the contact panel and on the Enrichment page.

What to do. Nothing. You do not need to wait on the page or refresh it. The email appears on its own as soon as one is found, or the field changes to No email if none is found.

If it takes a few minutes. The field changes to Still searching - refresh later. Close the contact and open it again later. The result is kept for you.

What it costs. You are charged 1 email credit only when an email is found, and only once. A search in progress is free, and so is a search that finds nothing.

API

Over the API, a search that has not finished returns 200 with the full person and email.status: "searching". The retry_after value is the number of seconds to wait. Call the same enrich request again after that time. The result is served then, and you are charged once if an email was found. See Email still searching in the API guide.
