Use GetProspect from your AI assistant (MCP)

Table of content

Connect your AI assistant to GetProspect and ask it to find people and companies, look up emails and save results to your lists. For example: "Find heads of sales at fintech companies with 50 to 200 employees in London", "Research acme.com and show me who runs marketing there", "Find the email of Jane Doe at acme.com" or "How many credits do I have left?". The setup is on the Integrations page, in AI assistants (MCP). It works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Grok and Perplexity.

Before you begin

  • Any member can connect an assistant. It acts as you, in the workspace you pick when you sign in.
  • Some assistants need a paid plan of their own to add a custom connector. ChatGPT needs developer mode.
  • Credits: searches are free. Revealing emails and phones, verifying and saving people use your credits. See "Credit usage".

Steps

  1. Open Integrations and find AI assistants (MCP).
  2. Copy the Server URL.
  3. Add it to your assistant:
    • Claude (web and Desktop): open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Paste the URL.
    • Claude Code: run the command shown on the page, then type /mcp and sign in.
    • ChatGPT: turn on Developer mode under Settings, then Apps & Connectors, then Advanced. Create a connector, paste the URL and choose OAuth.
    • Cursor and VS Code: click Add to Cursor or Add to VS Code and confirm.
    • Grok: open grok.com/connectors, choose New connector, then Custom, and paste the URL.
    • Perplexity: open Settings, then Connectors, then add a custom (remote) connector. Paste the URL and choose OAuth and Streamable HTTP.
  4. When the assistant asks, sign in to GetProspect and choose the workspace it may use.
  5. Ask for something, for example: "Find 25 marketing directors at software companies in Germany."

Menu names change as assistants update. If yours has no connector setting, the page also shows an API key setup for assistants that only take headers. Create the key on the API page.

To disconnect an assistant later:

  1. Open Settings and go to Security.
  2. Under Active sessions, find the assistant. It is labeled with its name and "(connected app)".
  3. Click Disconnect.

The assistant can no longer refresh its sign-in. An access token it already has can keep working for up to 15 minutes. Connect it again to use GetProspect with it. If you used an API key, delete the key on the API page.

What you get

Results appear in the chat: tables of people or companies, with whether an email exists. In Claude, ChatGPT and VS Code they show as an interactive table that looks like GetProspect: tick people and choose Reveal emails or Add to list, or click Reveal email on one person, and your assistant quotes the cost before spending. You can also page through a search right in the table, for free. People you save go to the lists you choose. Larger enrichments run as background jobs that your assistant can check on and read the results of.

Your assistant also offers three ready-made prompts: find_prospects, research_account and enrich_contacts.

Credits spent through an assistant show as MCP on the Usage page. Use the source filter to see only MCP. MCP calls follow the same rate-limit policy as the API.

Credit usage

Searching people and companies, filter suggestions, company lookups, listsFree
Checking your credit balanceFree
Saving companiesFree
Revealing an email1 email credit per valid email newly revealed; not found is free
Revealing a mobile number1 phone credit per number found; not found is free
Verifying one email1 verification credit for a valid or invalid verdict; accept-all and unknown are free
Saving people1 email credit per person whose valid email you do not own yet
Enriching a large list in the backgroundPeople: 1 email credit per email and 1 phone credit per phone found, charged as the job runs. Companies: free
An email you already ownFree again

If one request could cost more than 10 credits, the tool first returns the maximum cost instead of spending, and your assistant should show it to you and ask. Say yes to continue. Enriching more than about 10 new people always asks first. The 10-credit limit is the default; your assistant can ask for the current quote at any time. The actual cost is usually lower, because emails you own and searches that find nothing are free. Paid results report the credits used and your balance when it can be read. For a background job, ask for its status to see the credits used.

Check each action before you approve it. The limit is a safeguard in the tools, and your assistant may also ask for permission before it uses a tool.

FAQ

Do I need an API key?

No. Most assistants sign you in with your GetProspect account. Use an API key only for an assistant that cannot sign in. It goes in the x-api-key header; a key in the web address is refused.

Which workspace does the assistant use?

The one you chose when you signed in. To switch, disconnect the assistant and connect it again with the other workspace.

The assistant says it needs to sign in again.

The connection expired or was disconnected. Reconnect the server in your assistant and sign in again.

The assistant says I do not have enough credits.

The workspace is short of credits for that action. Ask for fewer people, or see what to do when you run out.

The assistant says it is still searching for an email.

Some email searches take a little longer. Your assistant should ask again after the seconds it was given. Nothing is charged until the email is found.

Can the assistant delete my data?

No. It can search, reveal, verify, create lists and save people and companies. It cannot delete lists, people or companies.
